Zebrafish

 

The zebrafish offers a great advantage as a genetically amenable model for biomedical research. The availability of genetic and molecular tools and techniques, such as transgenesis, gene knockout and knockin, bioinformatics, and live imaging capabilities, enable studies that are almost impossible in other animal models. Consequently, the zebrafish has become an attractive model for studying many behavioral and physiological processes.
